The People's Palace

This morning P6/7 visited the People's Palace where they received a 1950s and 1960s Tour. We learned about life in Glasgow in the 1950s and 60s including holidays, washing and leisure. We also visited the Caricature Exhibition on famous Scottish people and then played in the play park.

Today we went to the People's Palace in Glasgow. It was great! My favorite part was when we put Jack in prison! When we went to the shop i bought a door hanger saying 'Pardon the mess, it's the maids day off'. We went to the park and played Boys vs Girls - i got put in the boys prison!

oday I had a great time visiting the peoples palace in Glasgow. The class got to see what it would have been like to live in glasgow in the 1950s and 60s. We saw an old fashioned house that had very little furniture. We were told that babies would sleep in a drawer. We also seen an old black and white tv.

The tour guide told us that tenements in glasgow only had one toilet per landing. Some people would use a bucket through the night instead of going to the outside toilet.

We also visited the caricature exhibition and seen cartoon pictures of famous people like Gordon Brown and David Tenant. I found this very funny.

Before we went home we went to the park to play and eat our lunch.
